Our Story
"Why I Created Prepared Finance"
I didn't create the Prepared Finance Book because I had everything figured out.
I created it because I saw something that broke me — again and again.
In every town I visited, every market I walked through, every small shop I entered, I saw a pattern: hardworking people doing their best, but always one step behind.
They had the hustle. They had the discipline.
But what they didn't have… was clarity.
I met Maama Suzan, who ran a kiosk from sunrise to night, yet couldn't explain where her money went. I spoke with Ismail, who borrowed from loan sharks every month just to stay afloat. They had no records, no systems, and no safe space to track their financial lives.
And truth is — they weren't dumb. They were just never taught.
In school, we never had a class called "How to Manage My Business Money." Most financial tools are either too expensive, too complicated, or simply designed for people with smartphones, bank accounts, and degrees.
So I asked myself this question:
"What if the real problem isn't that they're bad at money — but that no one ever handed them the right tool?"
That's when Prepared was born.
A simple, affordable, and powerful paper-based finance book — designed for everyday Ugandans running small businesses, side hustles, or just trying to survive.
It's not flashy. It's not digital. But it works.
Because it's built for our people. By one of us.
It helps you track sales, expenses, debts, and even set business goals — in a language and layout that makes sense. And most of all, it gives small business owners something they've never had before:
👉 A sense of control.
👉 A way to prove their hustle.
👉 A tool to grow, not just survive.
I created Prepared because I wanted to see people win — not just today, but every day. To stop surviving and start building.
This isn't just a book.
It's a shift in mindset.
It's a step toward financial dignity.
It's hope, printed and spiral-bound.
And that's something worth sharing.
