Building Better Businesses
Building a More Prepared Future
A practical 12-month business coaching programme helping entrepreneurs build financial discipline, improve business management and grow stronger, more sustainable businesses.
PEP brings practical financial management directly into the entrepreneur’s everyday business through the Prepared Business Finance Book, personalised coaching, monthly business reviews and continuous support.
We don’t just teach entrepreneurs about financial management. We help them practise it, build better habits and turn those habits into stronger businesses.
TEACH → PRACTISE → COACH → REVIEW → IMPROVE
Hardworking Entrepreneurs. Weak Financial Systems.
Uganda’s micro and small businesses play a vital role in local economic development. Yet many entrepreneurs operate without practical systems for recording, understanding and managing their business finances.
This can lead to poor record-keeping, weak cash-flow and stock management, mixing of business and personal finances, and decisions based on memory rather than reliable business information.
The Evidence
Only 5.8%
of small businesses reported keeping books of accounts according to the UBOS Census of Business Establishments 2019/20.
The Gap
Financial knowledge does not always become financial behaviour.
Many programmes teach entrepreneurs what good financial management means. PEP focuses on helping entrepreneurs practise it consistently within their businesses through practical tools, coaching and continuous review.
This is the gap PEP was created to address.
A 12-Month Journey from Financial Knowledge to Better Business Practice
The Prepared Entrepreneurs Programme (PEP) is a practical, field-based business coaching programme designed to help entrepreneurs build financial discipline and stronger businesses.
Rather than delivering a one-time training session, PEP works alongside entrepreneurs for 12 months, helping them apply financial management practices within their everyday businesses.
How the Journey Works
01 — ONBOARD
Entrepreneurs are registered, profiled and introduced to the programme and the Prepared Business Finance Book.
02 — PRACTISE
Entrepreneurs begin recording and managing daily business activities including sales, expenses, stock, savings and loans.
03 — COACH & REVIEW
Prepared Business Advisors provide follow-up coaching and conduct monthly business reviews to identify challenges, reinforce good practices and support improvement.
04 — IMPROVE & GROW
Through consistent practice, coaching and review, entrepreneurs develop stronger financial habits, make better business decisions and work towards sustainable business growth.
