Notes & Reflections
Reflect on Your Month — Answer Guided Questions That Turn Experience Into Growth
The Notes & Reflections section is your personal space at the end of each month. Unlike the other sections that deal with numbers and tables, this one asks you to think, feel, and write in your own words. It's your monthly business journal — and it's one of the most transformative parts of the Prepared Finance Book.
Numbers tell you what happened. Reflections help you understand why it happened — and what to do differently next month. This is where business growth becomes personal growth.
The Guided Questions
Instead of blank pages, the Notes & Reflections section gives you guided prompts to help you think deeply:
-
What went well this month? — Celebrate wins, no matter how small
-
What didn't go well? — Identify challenges and setbacks honestly
-
How did I manage my money? — Were you disciplined? Did you overspend?
-
What must change next month? — Commit to one or two specific improvements
-
Additional Notes — Free space for anything else on your mind — lessons, ideas, reminders
How to Use It
Set aside 15–20 minutes at the end of each month. Review your Monthly Summary first, then come to this section. Read each question slowly and write honestly. Don't overthink it — there are no wrong answers. The goal is awareness.
Over time, these reflections become a personal growth diary. Flip back through months and you'll see patterns — what keeps going wrong, what consistently works, and how far you've come.
Why This Matters
-
You build self-awareness — the most underrated business skill
-
You process challenges instead of repeating the same mistakes
-
You celebrate progress — which keeps you motivated to continue
-
You create accountability with yourself — written commitments are harder to ignore
-
When an agent reviews your book, they see not just numbers but your thought process
Your thoughts are valuable. Write them down and watch yourself grow.
